Wednesday 13: Fuck it we'll do it live
30/01/09 || theProphet
It’s quite rare nowadays that live albums are worth it in terms of money. Even more so when the album is also released as a DVD with the same material, only that it also comes with a visual aspect. However, there are of course exceptions to the rule, and Wednesday 13’s brilliantly titled “Fuck it We’ll Do it Live” is such an exception. Because damn people, this album is so great that I fucking implore you to get both the album AND the DVD.
The first track is the intro and consists of a horde of roaring adolescents chanting the name of our hero. Even though I’m only listening to the audio recording of this show (recorded at the Crocodile Rock in Allentown, PA) I can easily visualize the frothing crowd, its youth only increasing the feeling of freshness and hunger which is enclosed within W13’s music.
As soon as the first song starts I’m immediately blown back with the intensity and sheer ferociousness of the music. Even in a live setting, Wednesday 13 manages to produce a very meaty sound with razor sharp guitars and great rumbling basslines that sends my vein-cudgel bursting straight through my jeans in a cumspurting frenzy. If anything, “Fuck it…” displays the massive amount of great songs that W13 have written over the years. We get some absolute gems here, such as the creepy “I Want You…Dead”, the bombastic “Not Another Teenage Anthem” and “Till Death Do Us Party” (awesome title!). Seriously, with hit-material like this, it’s a wonder that Wednesday and his cohorts aren’t more widely known and worshipped.
Oh, and as a last Easter egg of sorts, we’re treated to one of Wednesday’s old band’s, the now deceased Murderdolls, best songs, namely “I Love to Say Fuck”. Here I think that Wednesday manages to sum up the rebelliousness and don’t-give-a-fuck-attitude of today’s youth in a very striking and accurate way. Needless to say, the lyrics of “I Love to Say Fuck” are extremely well-written, provocative yet also very thoughtful. I ask you, what better way to end such an amazing show?
You all got the joke right? Fuck these guys. Seriously.
2 little girls in Halloween outfits that deserve to get savagely raped out of 10.
